Privacy Policy

This policy explains how footevils.com, the organiser of the "Call the Next Three" prediction contest and the controller of your personal data, uses it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

• Your email address.
• Your predictions and the date and time you submitted them.
• Whether you ticked the box to receive news and offers.
• The website that sent you to the contest (the referring page) and the link you arrived on, used to see which of our adverts and posts bring entries.
• Your IP address, your browser's user agent (the browser and device type it reports), the country it appears to come from (worked out by our security provider Cloudflare), and a spam-risk score from Google reCAPTCHA. We use these only to check you are eligible and to prevent abuse, bots and duplicate entries.

Why we use it

• To run the contest: record your bet, email you a confirmation of your picks, check that you follow the one-bet-per-30-days rule, work out winners and contact them.
• To send you news and offers from footevils.com, only if you ticked the optional box.
• To keep the contest fair and secure.

Our legal basis

• Running the contest and contacting winners: our legitimate interest in running the contest you entered (and, for winners, delivering the prize).
• Preventing abuse and duplicate entries: our legitimate interest in keeping the contest fair.
• News and offers by email: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who sees it

We do not sell your data. Our website traffic passes through Cloudflare, which processes it to deliver and protect the site. It is stored on our own server. If you win, we may share your email address with the licensed broadcaster or streaming provider only as needed to set up your prize subscription. Our servers may be located outside the United Kingdom; where that happens we use appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Contest entries are kept for up to 12 months after the contest round ends, then deleted. If you opted in to news and offers, we keep your email until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email we send. You can also ask us to show you, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to stop using it for marketing. You may also object to our use of your data. Contact us using the details on footevils.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). The contest is for people aged 18 or over; we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Cookies

This page uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect the form from bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and how you interact with the page, and may set cookies for security. That data goes to Google and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We receive only a score saying how likely you are to be a real person, and we store it with your entry. Apart from the optional Reddit cookie described below, we set no other cookies. The page also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address.

Reddit ad measurement

We advertise on Reddit. If you choose "Allow" on the ad-measurement banner, the page loads the Reddit Pixel, which sets a Reddit cookie, and when you enter we tell Reddit that a sign-up happened. To match it to the ad you clicked, we send Reddit a scrambled (SHA-256 hashed) copy of your email address, your IP address, your browser's user agent and the Reddit click ID from the ad link. Reddit uses this to report how our ads perform; its use is covered by the Reddit Privacy Policy. We never send your predictions. If you choose "No thanks", nothing is sent to Reddit. You can change your choice at any time using the link in the contest rules. Our legal basis is your consent.

Third-party platforms

If you arrived from an advert on Facebook, Instagram, X or Reddit, those platforms have their own privacy policies for what they collect. This contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by them. Apart from the Reddit ad measurement described above, which happens only if you allow it, they receive no data from this form.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
